Eyelashes Hair Transplant
Eyelash Hair Transplant, also known as eyelash implants, is a relatively new procedure that was originally used to treat eyelid areas that do not have eyelashes due to genetics, alopecia or trauma, such as cancer surgery or burning.
The procedure of Eyelash Hair Transplant:
A procedure usually involves the placement of 25 to 50 hairs in each upper eyelid, depending on the existing quantity of hair and the size and density required. The 2-hour procedure usually carried out under a mild oral sedative, is essentially painless, as is the recovery time. The procedure involves few risks, and most of them are associated with standard hair transplants. The 1-inch long donor site incision typically heals as an incision that is less than 2 mm wide and can easily be concealed with existing hair in the area. The main thing for patients to understand is that the hair needs to be curled manually so that it grows as normal eyelash hair in a sloping curved direction and that some hairs can grow in a less than ideal direction-these hairs can be cut very short or sometimes trained to grow in the right direction.
Results:
For the first 3 to 4 days after the procedure, small crusts are around each hair transplanted, and pinkness and/or mild swelling of the eyelids can occur. Within 3 to 5 days, except for some residual mild pinkness that disappears during the first week, patients can return to normal activities without having had any signs of a procedure.
Sutures placed in the donor area can be dissolved so that there is no need to go back to the office for removal of sutures. The transplanted hair falls in about 2 weeks and then begins to grow again in 3 months, where it will grow for a lifetime.
