Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much hair transplant surgery will cost?
Tip: Don't slip into a false economy. See a trustworthy doctor that you can fly to after surgery if needed.
2. Who should I go to for my surgery?
3. How much will hair transplant procedure hurt?
4. How noticeable will the scarring be?
Follicular unit grafting allows the recipient region to have minor incisions and any potential scarring is usually invisible to the untrained eye. At the back of your head, there will also be a slight scar from the donor region, but it will be concealed under existing skin.
5. How long before signs of growth are visible?
Hair growth is a slow process, even in a person who has no hair loss. After you have the operation, due to the natural growth cycle of the skin, initial signs of growth can take anything from three to four months. It's all gravy beyond this! When your hair begins to grow, it will take about eight months for the full effects. You will see the full effect at a one-year post-op.
Tip: Keep an eye on your expectations and note that hair is a bit like money: you're always going to want more.
6. Will the results of hair transplant be permanent?
The transplanted hair follicles are genetically immune to baldness, so in principle they will continue to grow over your lifetime.
